Purple is in! This is the old Huguenot section of Cork city.

The Huguenots were Protestants of French extraction living in Ireland, who ran most of the city's commercial markets. The Catholic Church forbade the Irish Catholics from engaging in any commerce; they relied upon the Huguenots to fill that void.
