Steam Museum

Kew Gardens London Westminster Abbey

No trip to Kew would be complete without a visit to the "Kew Bridge Steam Museum." It is housed in an old steam pumping station that pumped water from the Thames into the central London mains until the early 1940s. Most of the exhibits, then, are oriented towards water pumping and distribution.

The museum operates (I found out the hard way) on weekends and Bank Holiday Mondays, though you can wander around (sans exhibit operation) during the rest of the week.
