Harrison Clock

Grand Meridian Greenwich Harrison Clock
Encased "Harrison Clock", Royal Observatory, Greenwich, England

One of the famous Harrison clocks at the Royal Observatory, Greenwich.

The Harrison clocks, of which there are four, were uniquely designed with two counter-oscillating pendulums. This gives the clock the ability to keep its pendulums oscillating regardless of attitude — particularly important aboard ship, where all three axes are in motion.
